Reflections: A Writing and Meditation Day Retreat With Yashobodhi (Online International Triratna Event)

Hosted By: Yashobodhi
Sunday, May 21st, 2023
5 a.m. EDT to 12 p.m. EDT

Online via Zoom - see session times below

Event Description:

Join Yashobodhi and others for a day of exploration and practice through meditation and reflective writing. We will be using images and metaphors in meditation and follow writing prompts to gently delve deeper into our experience. There will also be a chance to interact with other writers in small breakout groups (sharing your writing is not required).

This kind of writing is unplanned: just expressing in written words whatever comes up in relation to a series of prompts. We can write anything, and everything that emerges is “right.” It’s not about correct grammar or punctuation, but rather a process of making visible what may often be invisible. It’s not about creating a text, but about relating, discovering, and perhaps transforming.

The day consists of two parts, which can be attended separately if you wish. We recommend taking part in the whole day to get the most out of this event!

Attend any or all conversations in Zoom.

This event will be recorded and may be published online for others to access. Only the leader's video will be used except where users consent to appear spotlighted in a public conversation. Private conversations in breakout rooms will not be recorded.

Suggested donation for the whole series:

£40-70 | $55-95 | €50-80

Like all our events, this retreat is offered by donation rather than charging a compulsory ticket price. We want to do this because we never want money to be an obstacle to taking part in a supportive community, and we know many people are struggling financially in the wake of the pandemic and cost of living crisis. The amount we suggest reflects the huge amount of work and love that goes into putting on events we hope will benefit everyone attending. If you can, please donate today to help us continue with our work and support others to attend who cannot afford to pay. Thank you!
