Triratna in the Americas

Triratna is a vibrant Buddhist community in the Americas. Some of our more public teachers with exposure in the Americas are VimalasaraBodhipaksa, and Vidyamala, all published authors.

At present, our largest centers and communities can be found in the US on the Seacoast and in the Bay Area, as well as in the Mexico City Area. Most of Triratna’s presence in the Americas looks like a rather extensive network of small to medium sized groups and centers in wide range of locations and cultural contexts.

We come together in larger retreats to practice and train.

The links below will take you to listings of our groups and centers in the following countries:

Working Together, Practicing Together

The glue that holds our community together is spiritual friendship within a common framework of practice and lineage. There are various ways we build community across the Americas, formal and informal.

The Pan-American Chairs of Triratna is a grouping of Chairpeople who run of Triratna centers and groups from Canada to Brazil. This group meets on a regular basis to discuss issues of leadership, and policies and strategies relevant to common issues of practicing and responding compassionately to events in our region.

Collaboration across the Americas also takes place in relation to Ordination Training.  More informally, friendships are built through attending retreats throughout the Americas and the numerous opportunities to connect online through classes and personally with our Pan-American community.
