These heart-teachings connect with our human desire for happiness. Join us as we contemplate nurturing these attitudes.

About the Leaders:
Having a lifelong, layperson's interest in both Eastern and Western philosophy, as well as yoga and meditation, Zoltan began exploring Buddhist literature in earnest in the mid-1990s. He found inspiration, and recognized there's a world of wisdom in the Buddhadharma, and a world of fellow travelers practicing it, through books such as Thich Nhat Hanh's Living Buddha, Living Christ, Stephen Bachelor's Buddhism Without Beliefs, Shunryu Suzuki's Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, and a number of titles by the Dalai Lama. In 2001, after a bit of shopping around, and reading three of Sangharakshita's books (Who Is The Buddha, What Is The Dharma, and What Is The Sangha), he connected with Sangharakshita's emphasis on spiritual friendship as foundational and essential to dharma practice, and found a spiritual home with the Aryaloka sangha in New Hampshire. He is a mitra (friend, student, and member) of the Triratna Buddhist community, with whom he has been practicing for over 22 years.
Joy Hertzog has been practicing Buddhism for over 10 years. She is a Mitra (student) in the Triratna Community and is currently training for Ordination. She is an experienced meditator, teacher, and facilitator. Joy believes in creating a welcoming and safe environment for practitioners of all levels.
