Course Description:
“Three things in human life are important. The first is to be kind. The second is to be kind. The third is to be kind.”

Kindness-based meditations address habitual patterns of mind that lead into negative emotions — anger, shame, anxiety.
In this course, we will look at what kindness actually is, how we put kindness into practice in our daily lives, and a range of meditation techniques for cultivating kindness.
Throughout the course, you will develop a greater capacity to respond to difficult experiences with kindly awareness — leading to resilience, confidence, and calm.

About the Leaders:
Ananta has practiced within the Triratna Buddhist Community for 25 years. He has spent over three years on retreat. He was Ordained in 2007 and is the Chair and a leading teacher of Triratna New York-New Jersey and of the Triratna US & Canada Men’s ordination training team. He is the CEO of Karuna USA, a Buddhist-inspired international nonprofit tackling poverty and discrimination in South Asia, and formerly led global youth empowerment initiatives with the United Nations. He is a certified Mindfulness teacher with Brown University.
Silasiddhi is a long-time student of Buddhism, meditator, and professor of photography. He has been a member of the Triratna Buddhist Community for many years and recently became Ordained and joined the Order.
