Gender Diversity.

Triratna is home to a vibrant Gender Diverse global community. Historically Triratna has long been a sought after Buddhist community for its welcoming attitudes towards sexual orientation. Gender diversity has been a newer frontier, and the last decade a prominent group of activist Order Members have been working with our various institutions to help us move beyond the binary and make our city centers, retreat centers and ordination training more inclusive of all genders. This has not been without difficulty and the process is still very much underway, thanks to the courage of those involved in leading our transformation.

Since 2021, Order Members in India have been conducting a wide spreading training program on gender in the Order, and holding retreats for transgender and gender non-confirming populations.
