Event Description:
We’re so grateful to be able to gather and have fun in person once again, so we’ve been organizing monthly weekend practice days in NYC as a chance to come together and practice in community. For this March NYC practice day, the theme will be The Six Perfections.
Join us at New York Zendo Shobo-ji for a morning of reflective practice, where we’ll discuss the following questions: What are the Six Perfections, and how can we apply them to our daily practice off the cushion? How can we bring them closer in our relationship with other and self?
Our practice will include meditation, input & talk, discussion, and ritual. Emphasis will be on lightly-led mindfulness meditation and walking practice.
The morning will be followed by lunch and a cultural excursion to a museum or exhibition.
Lunch will be at 1:15 pm at Le Botaniste UES, which serves 100% organic, plant-based food. You can find it at 833 Lexington Avenue (between 63rd & 64th St). After that, we’ll head to the Rubin Museum, which is dedicated to the art and cultures of the Himalayas, the Indian subcontinent, and Central Asia, with a permanent collection focused particularly on Tibetan art.
This event is OPEN TO ALL—all are welcome.
