Our NYC Sangha has been a solace to me for over 15 years. Somehow I feel this open door has had deep repercussions on my spiritual growth.

NYC Sangha

Triratna NYC is a Buddhist sangha, a community of people who practice and study Buddhism in the heart of New York City. We are a diverse, welcoming, and friendly group that meets weekly to meditate together, and we offer meditation classes and Buddhist study to people of all backgrounds and all levels of experience.

We are part of the global Triratna Buddhist Movement, which has sanghas and retreat centers throughout the Northeast, in other parts of the US and Canada, in the UK, in Europe, in India, and in many other countries across the globe.

The word Triratna means ‘three jewels’ in Sanskrit, and is a reference to the three basic components of Buddhist practice and philosophy: the Buddha (the historical figure who attained Enlightenment 2500 years ago), the Dharma (the teachings of the Buddha and others, ancient and modern, about the path to Enlightenment), and the Sangha (the spiritual community).
