Triratna NYC Retreat
Led by: Samayasri, Ananta and Padmadharini
Friday Feb 16th – Monday 19th, 2018
The retreat: Takes place over President’s Day Weekend and will be facilitated by the team leading the Tuesday night study groups. The theme will focus on creating a Buddha realm-seeking ways to bring kindness and wisdom into how we practice together.
The ideal of Sangha is one that can bring with it expectations of friendliness, understanding and harmony. Meanwhile the practice of building community is at times messy and unsatisfactory. This weekend we’ll explore how we navigate the messy, the painful, the unexpected. What learning has already emerged from challenging times? What new learning can we see? Dropping expectations, we will step more fully into the unknown and emerging process of going a little deeper with each other.
Cost: Our goal is to create affordable retreats open to anyone regardless of income. The highest amount of the sliding scale is for people who are working full time and can comfortably cover their basic household expenses. The lowest amount is for people on a low or unreliable income. The mid-tier is for those whose income falls somewhere in between. We ask that those who are able to pay at the higher end of the sliding scale do so as this helps to support those on lower incomes. Please contact us if cost is prohibitive – we do not want cost to be a barrier to anyone having the opportunity to retreat
Retreat details: Feb 16th-Feb 19th (3 nights) – Residential rate $180/$230/$280 (includes food and accommodation in double bedroom). The retreat will start with an evening meal together at around 6.30 on Friday 12th, and will end at about 3pm on Monday 15th.
Travel: Blue Sky is easy to reach – it’s an easy 90-minute journey by bus from PABT to X bus station where we will collect you. We request that those travelling from NY coordinate and travel on the same bus.
Registration/Information: For additional information or to register for the retreat, please contact Padmadharini at [email protected]
